Exciting News: New Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots Launching March 31, 2025
We are thrilled to inform you that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the launch of the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, set to commence on March 31, 2025.
These new pilots are designed to provide a streamlined pathway to permanent residency for home care workers, addressing the growing demand for caregivers across the country.
Key Features of the New Pilots:
- Permanent Residency Upon Arrival: Qualified home care workers and their families will receive permanent resident status immediately upon entering Canada.
Eligible Occupations & NOC Codes:
- Home Child Care Providers (NOC 44100): Caregivers who provide child care at home.
- Home Support Workers (NOC 44101): Caregivers assisting seniors or individuals with disabilities.
Note: These pilots do not include housekeepers or other related occupations.
Simplified Eligibility Criteria:
- Language Proficiency: Minimum CLB level of 4 in English or French.
- Educational Requirement: At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience or Training: At least 6 months of recent and relevant work experience or completion of a related home care training program.
- Job Offer: A full-time job offer in Canada’s home care sector.
Flexible Employment Opportunities:
The pilots allow for employment with a range of employers, including private households and organizations providing short-term or occasional home care services.
Important Note About Application Streams:
When the pilots open on March 31, 2025, IRCC will only accept applications for the Workers in Canada stream. The stream for applicants outside Canada will open at a later date.
