Agri Food Pilot Program

Agri-Food Pilot Program (AFP)

At Precious Immigration Solution, we help foreign workers navigate the Agri-Food Pilot Program (AFP), a targeted pathway to permanent residency for those employed in Canada’s agri-food industries. If you have experience working in agriculture or food production, this program could be the right fit for you.

What is the Agri-Food Pilot Program?

The Agri-Food Pilot Program (AFP) helps address labor shortages in the Canadian agriculture and food sectors. It offers experienced foreign workers a pathway to permanent residency, specifically targeting industries that are crucial to Canada’s food supply and economic stability. This program provides an opportunity for workers in these sectors to settle permanently in Canada while continuing to contribute to the industry.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Agri-Food Pilot, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Canadian Work Experience: At least 12 months of full-time, non-seasonal work experience in an eligible industry within the past three years.
  • Job Offer: A full-time, non-seasonal, permanent job offer from a Canadian employer in an eligible industry.
  • Education: A Canadian high school diploma or equivalent foreign education (with an Educational Credential Assessment).
  • Language Proficiency: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 4 in English or French in all language abilities.
  • Proof of Settlement Funds: Unless already working in Canada, applicants must demonstrate sufficient settlement funds.
  • Intent to Reside: Applicants must intend to live outside of Quebec.

The Agri-Food Pilot focuses on specific industries and occupations that are facing labor shortages, such as:

  • Meat product manufacturing (e.g., industrial butchers, food processing laborers)
  • Greenhouse, nursery, and floriculture production (e.g., general farm workers, harvesting laborers)
  • Animal production (excluding aquaculture), including raising livestock (e.g., farm supervisors, specialized livestock workers)
